Kristin Fischer will join CNN as CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. In this role, Fisher is in charge of covering all things including NASA's recently-created Space Force to commercial space companies and space tourism. Kristin was born into the sector of space, as the daughter and granddaughter of NASA astronauts. In the past five years she's been covering space policy under the Biden and Trump administrations for FOX News. In that period, Kristin was also a reporter covering impeachment proceedings for the president and the 2020 presidential election and the efforts of two administrations in order to control the Coronavirus Pandemic. She also was a frequent traveler with President Trump as well as Vice President Trump frequently. It included a secret visit to Afghanistan. Kristin has worked in the newsrooms of local markets like Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Washington, D.C. for more than a decade prior to becoming a part of the network. She was awarded an Emmy Award in Washington, D.C. for her work as a CBS station's reporter who was a one-man band. Utilizing her expertise on the set, Kristin founded Field Mouse Films in 2014. The company was a specialist in documentary style films for clients of corporate nature, including Uber and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism at Boston University. She and her husband reside at Washington, D.C., and she has a 3 year old daughter.
